Janet graduated from Pacific Union College in 1973 and started teaching a 3rd/4th grade combined class at Pleasant Hill. In 1976 Janet moved to be the 1st/2nd teacher at Foothills for 4 years followed by teaching at Vavavillle SDA School for 8 years. In 1985 Janet joined the Napa family as the 3rd grade teacher. She taught them for 2 years then moved to become the first grade teacher until 1993. Janet then became the 5th grade teacher and has been teaching fifth grade ever since. (13 years)
Janet also earned her Masters in Educational Leadership from PUC and has taught adult ESL classes through the Public school system.
In her free time Janet enjoys gardening and says, "I love it and am blessed with a green thumb...it's the way I really relax...either working in my garden or visting nurseries." She has a pound rescued poodle-bichon dog, named Henry and a Mainecoon cat adopted from the SPCA named Beau. She has 2 children, Holly, who is a first grade teacher and Justin, who is a storyboard artist for PIXAR Animation Studios.
