Napa Christian’s fourth grade class is a special class with a great deal of energy. As always we are doing many things in the different content areas. Here are a few examples of the learning that is taking place.
During the Christmas season the class read a book called The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Every single student enjoyed the story and are geared up for our next book. This class really enjoys a great story.
To go right along with stories, in Bible the students are learning about some of the parables or stories that Jesus, the greatest storyteller, told. Each of Jesus’ parables gives us a greater understanding of how we should live and love. The students give such thoughtful attention to these stories with their responses and related work.
Currently in math, our class is devoting some special attention to understanding multiplication and the various tricks to learn the facts in a timely manner. “He ate and he ate and sticks in the door… eight times eight is sixty-four. “ is only one example of the fun ways we are learning to multiply.
The students are in the middle of the writing process for writing “how-to” paragraphs. Everyone is excited to share what he or she knows how to do. Some will be presenting how to play some games, how to prepare some food, and much more.
In addition to learning in the content areas, the students are learning more about the use of life-long guidelines and life skills such as patience, perseverance, organization, kindness, flexibility and more. Together with the Each precious child is growing day by day.
