Carolyn Kearbey grew up in southern Missouri. She got her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from Southeast Missouri State University and her Masters in Reading / Learning Disabilities from Andrews University. She taught at San Fernando Valley Academy and Orangewood Academy in southern California before going back to school full-time at Loma Linda University in La Sierra to complete her Doctorate in Education. She spent four years at Eastern Oregon State College teaching both college-level education classes and elementary grades in the Ackerman Laboratory School before moving to Atlantic Union College in Massachusetts. At AUC, Dr. Kearbey served in a number of roles, including associate director of the Reading Center, director of the Curriculum Library, professor of education, professor of reading in the Nursing Department for a federal grant, and Vice-President for Academics/Provost. She moved back to California, and to Napa Christian, in 2005, to be closer to her ninety-something father with whom she now shares a home. Dr. Kearbey is the resource teacher/librarian/reading specialist for the school. |
